Using SolSuite

  1. Do I need to enter the Activation Code to play more than 9 trillion game numbers for each solitaire instead of only 3 shuffles?

  2. How do I change the display setting?

  3. How do I display the vertical scroll bar in SolSuite?

  4. When I'm in the final phase of the game, I press Autoplay to transfer all the cards to the foundations. But when I start a new game I want to disable the Autoplay.

  5. I would like to save a Series in mid play so I can reopen it and continue playing next time. How do I save the current game and the other Series games?

  6. On Windows XP and on Windows Vista, can I have a single list of players and statistics for all my users/accounts?

  1. Do I need to enter the Activation Code to play more than 9 trillion game numbers for each solitaire instead of only 3 shuffles?

Yes. If you are playing the unactivated version of SolSuite 2008, each solitaire has only three game numbers (shuffles) available to play.

If you activate your copy of SolSuite 2008, each solitaire game will have more than nine trillion (9,999,999,999,999) possible games to play.

To activate your copy of SolSuite 2008, please open the "Help" menu, "Activation Code" dialog box.

  1. How do I display the vertical scroll bar in SolSuite?

In some games, a column of cards can get so long that the bottom is not visible. To display the vertical scroll bar, choose Tools Menu, Options command, then select the Vertical scroll bar check box in the Show box.

  1. I would like to save a Series in mid play so I can reopen it and continue playing next time. How do I save the current game and the other Series games?

If you want to save a Series and have it reopen the next time you play, you can use the Hold and Exit command from the File Menu. The next time you play SolSuite, the Series will continue with the current game. You can also set "Hold and Exit" as the default method to exit SolSuite (so you can exit using the standard Exit command or by clicking on the "x"). To customize the exit procedure, choose Tools Menu, Options, Advanced button, Hold and Exit tab.

  1. On Windows XP and on Windows Vista, can I have a single list of players and statistics for all my users/accounts?

In the default installation, SolSuite sets up separate statistics and configuration data for each Windows XP user/account.
You can configure SolSuite to have single configuration and statistics data for all users/accounts.

  1. Install SolSuite in a folder accessible for all the users. For example: the default installation folder C:\Program Files\SolSuite.

  2. Open SolSuite, Tools menu, Options command. Click the "Advanced" button, "Store Folder" tab, click "Other Folder", "Browse" and point to a common folder where all the accounts have read and write privileges.
For example in Windows XP: C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Shared Documents\SolSuite (you have to create the sub-folder "SolSuite"); or C:\MyData\SolSuite
For example in Windows Vista: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SolSuite (you have to create the sub-folder "SolSuite"); or C:\MyData\SolSuite

  3. Press OK to confirm.

  1. When is my "Overall score" updated?

The "Overall score" is the sum of all your Hi-Scores, one for each game. The "Overall score" is only updated if you achieve a Hi-Score for the game you just finished playing.

Example:

  • Your Overall Score = "1,000".

  • Your Hi-Score for FreeCell = "80".

  • You play FreeCell and your Score = "60".

  • Your Overall Score is not updated and will remain at "1,000" because "60" does not exceed "80".

  • Play another game with "Score = 150" and the "Overall Score" is updated:

  • Your Overall Score = "1,070" (1,000 - 80 + 150)

  • Your Hi-Score for FreeCell = "150"
